All of us want to do good for others. We want to give, support, encourage and be a part of something that’s bigger than ourselves. So if you’re looking to be a part of an organization that is dedicated to making an impact on lives of others, look no further.
KICK Ministries (Kc Inner City Kids) is a faith-based 501(c)(3) ministry that focuses on helping inner-city kids. For 13 years, they have made an impact on more than 500 kids in the Kansas City area. They’ve partnered with local business, programs, agencies and other ministries.
For 14 years, Executive Director David Stanley has been devoted to serving these kids. He grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and earned his bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Donnelly College. He also has an M.Div. from Central Baptist Theological Seminary. Angie, his wife, serves as the business manager and secretary for the board of directors. About his experience with KICK Ministries, David says,
“Through the years, I have had the privilege of helping urban kids experience the hope that comes in knowing Christ. It has always been difficult, but it has also always been rewarding. Whether it's leading a student in a Bible study for the first time, helping a student pray out-loud for the first time, or leading a silly game, or taking kids on my boat to go 'tubing' for the first time - there is never a dull moment in this work."
Program Director Winston Frazier is an experienced leader; he worked for the Boys & Girls Club for 13 years as a teen director and a branch manager. He has an English degree from St. Mary’s University, and he’s dedicated his life to serving inner-city kids.
Although a lot of time is spent practicing basketball, the focus of KICK Ministries is clear — striving to teach, train, and model excellence in inner-city kids. And they need your help. Whether through a donation or volunteer work, you are needed to help make an impact on the KICK kids.
